Nomination Form
Deadline for nominations is December 1 st.
This award is to be given to an individual who has exemplified excellence in their pastoral practice. There can be a nomination for each of the three areas of practice – pastoral education, pastoral counselling, and institutional ministry.
Regions or individuals are invited to submit nominations for the Award for Excellence in Pastoral Practice. More than one nomination can be made by each region or individual. Nominations must have the endorsement of the regional executive of the region where the nominee lives and/or works.
Nominations for the Awards of Excellence in Pastoral Practice should be sent to the Secretary of the Professional Practice Commission by December 1 st. The name and e-mail address of the Secretary can be found on the Contacts page under Professional Practice Commission.
Decisions will be made by the Professional Practice Commission and recipients will be notified and presented with the award at the following National CAPPE/ACPEP Annual Meeting.
Criteria for Awards:
- The nominee will have made a significant contribution of pastoral practice and demonstrated excellence in professional practice as exemplified by the CAPPE/ACPEP Standards of Practice.
- The Nominee usually will be a current, active, participating certified member of CAPPE/ACPEP except as noted below. Current members of the Board, Commissions and Committees are eligible for nomination.
- "Best practice" is to be congruent with all other CAPPE/ACPEP Standards (Ethics, Educational, etc.)
- May be awarded posthumously in the name of a person, who was a certified member of CAPPE and who demonstrated outstanding pastoral practice.
Awards of Excellence - Research
Nomination Form
Deadline for Nominations is December 1 st.
Purpose of the Awards: To raise the professional competency and profile of spiritual care and counselling and to nurture a “research culture” within CAPPE/ACPEP.
Criteria for Awards:
- The existing criteria for the other Awards of Excellence will apply.
- There will be two awards - one for an individual and one for a team which may be an inter-professional team. In both cases, a certified member of CAPPE/ACPEP must be named on the nomination form.
- A monetary award of $1000 will be given to the individual award winner; a plaque or certificate will be given to the team winner.
- The purpose of the monetary award is to provide assistance to the winner to raise awareness and/or to assist the member to disseminate their work through conferences and publication.
- The research must be in one of the fields of spiritual care, counselling or education.
- The PPC will obtain expert assistance, when necessary, to judge the nominations.
- A copy of the research should accompany the nomination form.
- The nomination form and accompanying materials should be sent to the person named as either Vice Chair or Past Chair of the Professional Practice Commission. This person’s name and e-mail address can be found on the Contacts page under Professional Practice Commission.
