Thank you for your interest in the Residency Program in Spiritual Care at Capital Health. Growth in Spiritual Care through the Residency program is an exciting opportunity.
A list of the materials you need to prepare for application follows. It is detailed, as might be expected when applying and competing for a position which will span the better part of a year. Some of the requirements and questions also reflect the requirements of the standards of the Canadian Association of Pastoral Practice and Education.
To apply for a Residency position, please complete the following:

1. An application of the Institute of Pastoral Training (attached).
2. A two-page description of your understanding of Spiritual Care and how you provide it.
3. A Review the CAPPE requirements for admission to Advanced training (see www.cappe.org , Handbook, Certification, Advanced Education, Section 202) a copy of which are attached; Section II, Subsection 5 contains a checklist, see page 202.8). Can you meet those requirements? Include in your application any questions or uncertainties about the requirements on this list.
4. A current resume.
5. Copies of supervisor's and student's evaluations of your first unit of Clinical Pastoral Education.

 
If your application is acceptable you will be invited to appear for a screening interview.
If you are accepted into the residency program you will be required to undergo a criminal records check.
