Thank you for your interest in the Residency Program in Spiritual Care at Capital Health. Growth in Spiritual Care through the Residency program is an exciting opportunity.
A list of the materials you need to prepare for application follows. It is detailed, as might be expected when applying and competing for a position which will span the better part of a year. Some of the requirements and questions also reflect the requirements of the standards of the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC).
To apply for a Residency position, please complete the following:
1. An application for the program (attached).
2. A two-page description of your understanding of Spiritual Care and how you provide it.
3. A Review the CASC requirements for admission to Advanced training, This information is in the Manual. Chapter 2 section II section B. Can you meet those requirements? Include in your application any questions or uncertainties about the requirements on this list.
4. A current resume.
5. Copies of supervisor's and student's evaluations of your first unit of Clinical Pastoral Education.
If your application is acceptable you will be invited to appear for a screening interview.
If you are accepted into the residency program you will be required to undergo a criminal records check.
Please send these materials, with the appropriate deposit fee of $200. For Capital Health applications payable to TO67 - Professional Development Fund. For IWK applications, cheques are to be made payable to IWK Spiritual Health, Trust Account.
